Thank you Lynn. by Colly McGarry from Hallsmill
29. March 2011
Aww thank you Lynn, they will be so pleased and its good for choir encouragement and moral to be praised, I don't like them to think they are taken for granted because there are so many Parishes that would be honored and priviledged to have their talent, yes, they are wonderful, it nice that You appreciate them! Colum xx
Male Voice CHoir by Lynn Laverty from Hallsmill
27. March 2011
Thought the Male Voice Choir was fantastic last night as usual! Hearing them sing really does add to Mass! The only problem is I really want to clap after each hymn they sing. Gethsemane at communion was just beautiful!! Well done Colum and all the men!

Shamrock Mandolin by Kathy from Gilford
16. March 2011
John Joe Molloy was my grandfather and I'm very proud to say his famous Shamrock Mandolin is being played once more this St. Patrick's day in both The Gilford Inn and the Castle Bar. It will be a fantastic opportunity to hear this wonderful instrument once again!

That's great to hear. Happy Saint Patrick's Day
Male Voice Choir by Maire Boylan from Armagh
15. March 2011
Hello! I was passing through Laurencetown on Saturday evening and I went to the 6pm Mass. I was overwhelmed by the marvellous Male Voice Choir that was in attendance. They sang my favourite hymn 'Steal Away' that brought tears to my eyes. The Choir and music where wonderful. Could I have more info on them?. I have never heard such beautiful singing and music. Thank you.
Comment:
Hi Maire. The Male Voice Choir will be delighted with your praise. They sing at the 6.00pm Mass every two weeks and their director is Colum McGarry from the parish, who also directs the joint choir on Sunday morning Mass at 10.00am. They are are very committed group of people and certainly add so much to the liturgy. Colum is a regular contributor to our Guestbook as you will see and I have no doubt he will respond to you himself. Thanks again.

Catherine, thank you for all your hard work. It's great to see the children from school on the site, and great that everyone can share the fun of school events. The children in school love to see themselves especially, and it always generates a lot of craic among them which helps to build fond memories for the future. "Happy Days"

Thanks John. It was realy enjoyable to see all the effort made by both pupils and staff. Your own contribution was worthy of a slot on the comedy circuit. Well done everyone.
McCartan Family Tree by Paula Lavery from Derrymacash, County Armagh
02. February 2011
I was looking to see if I could get any information on a William John McCartan born in 1880 in Drumhorc, Gilford, died 1944. He married Sarah Ann Farnon from Caul Hill, Lenaderg on 7/9/1911. He is my great grandfather. The poem Our Tullylish Rose is beautiful. Your site is well designed. Thanks Paula
Comment:
Thanks Paula I am sure you will have no problem finding info on your great grandfather as there are still many McCartans living in Drumhorc.

Hi Catherine Just had to comment on Gemma McGrath´s photos, I think they are fantastic!!! Is it allowed to copy some of them over to a hard drive or maybe print them off to make a picture. Makes one homesick for the area, snow and all
Comment:
That's no problem Nan. It's great to see young poeple taking the time to send in photos. Enjoy!
Langley family origins by Kevin Langley from Oxford, England
02. January 2011
I have recently obtained a copy of my grandfather's birth certificate from the general record office in Dublin and discovered that he was born in Tullylish on 7 Jan 1866. His father was called Richard Langley and his mother was Sarah McCusker. I also have a death certificate for a Richard Langley in 1872. He died in Lurgan at the age of 45 - presumably my great grandfather.

We will see what we can do Kevin.
