'Out of the Mist' Art Exhibition Print

Four years ago, Doctor McMullan retired from Gilford Health Centre.

He is now holding an exhibition of his art and all proceeds are going to charity - see his letter below.

We wish him continued good health and success in his exhibition.

Art exhibition

I have enjoyed painting for the past number of years and have amassed quite a few. So I have decided to have an art exhibition and sell all the pictures.

All the proceeds from the sale will be divided between the "Container ministry" and the Mandeville unit (cancer care) at Craigavon Area Hospital.

For the past 2 years I have been volunteering a couple of days a week with the "Container Ministry" here in Lurgan, which sends educational, medical and vocational equipment and supplies to third world countries. At the moment we are packing a 40 foot container to send to Zambia. This is to the Chivuna mission which was founded by the Jesuits in 1951, which accepts and treats all comers, irrespective  of creed or culture. They have a  200 patient clinic with almost nothing at all to treat their patients. We have packed hospital beds, incubators, cots, mattresses, 40 large boxes of medical supplies, wheelchairs... the list goes on.

The Mandeville unit gave me exceptional care and attention during my illness. I was not given any preferential treatment and can only but speak highly for their professionalism and compassion.

I would thus be grateful if this exhibition/sale could be mentioned in your parish news. I would love to see some old familiar faces again .... and if some folk want to buy a piece of art then that will be a bonus. Both recipients of the sale are in my mind very worthy causes.

I have attached a copy of the flier advertising the event and thank you for putting up with my ramblings.

Warm regards

Victor McMullen
