Feast of the Presentation of the Lord – Candlemas Day

World Day for Consecrated Life.

This feast is a remembrance of the Lord and Mary, mother of the Lord.

Also known as Candlemas Day, candles are blessed which are used in the home for prayer and in times of sickness and Adoration in the church in Laurencetown and Gilford. If you would like candles blessed, please leave them in Laurencetown church.

Service of blessing of candles will take place in Laurencetown on Saturday 2^nd. February at 12noon. The blessing of throats in honour of Saint Blaise, Bishop & Martyr will also take place at the service.
