Master Monaghan and Master Battersby each gave a parent
a lighted candle which they in turn pass to their child.
"The candles we have given to you
are a sign of the faith that we are passing to you.
It is the most precious gift that we have to give to you.
We will be there to help you as you try
to keep the light of faith burning in your life"
  
As we look forward to the Sacrament of Confirmation we pray:
Father, send your Holy Spirit to these, your children,
to be their helper and guide.
Give them
the Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding
the Spirit of Right Judgement and Courage,
the Spirit of Knowledge and Reverence.
Fill them with
the Spirit of Wonder and Awe in your presence.
Amen.
