Together with Christian churches worldwide, we celebrate the Season of Creation starting on 1st September and running to the Feast of St Francis of Assisi on 4th October. This is an appropriate time to renew our engagement with Pope Francis' encyclical, Laudato Si'. It is also opportune as we hear daily reports of the fires in the Amazon basin to pray not only for that region (and the forthcoming Synod for the Pan-Amazon region scheduled in Rome for 6-27 October) but also for our future generations as we face global changes to our planet and its climate.
