In memory of Sally Walker |
Sally was born in County Monaghan in 1932. She lived in various places throughout her life – Armagh, Tandragee and moved to Dublin in 1971 where she worked in Brown Thomas. She returned to Gilford in 1988 as she always wanted to come home. Sally had six children and she lost her daughter Cathy three years ago to cancer. Dementia came to Sally around the same time which was tough but her mind always brought her back to her days working in Sinton’s Mill in Tandragee as a doffer, even recalling the name of her boss. She was an extremely private person and kept herself to herself. She had a strong relationship with her sister Mary and was a loving grandmother and great grandmother. About a year ago, the dementia took its toll and Sally moved from her home in Gilford to Orchard Lodge Care Home in Armagh. She lived to a wonderful age of 86.
Our parish community offers its sympathy to her children Ann, Noel, Silvena, Victoria, Karl and her sister Mary. May she rest in peace
