The Queen carried out one of her final duties to mark her jubilee year today by unveiling a statue in her home town of Windsor. The spiral of 60 spheres is to represent her time on the throne and was designed by a pupil at Windsor Girl's School. Past pupil of St. John's Gilford, Eimear O'Carroll (née McEvoy) is assistant head teacher at the school and sent us in the following photos.
Hi Catherine,
Hope you are well.
A student of mine (Caroline Basra) was the winner of a competition to design a jubilee sculpture for the recent diamond jubilee. It was unveiled in Windsor on Tue 9th October and our school chamber choir performed at it. I was asked to sing with them and actually got to speak to the Queen.
