Tullylish G.A.C. recently hosted a Primary School Blitz at Pairc na nÓg as part of their Coaching and Development Programme. St Colman’s Laurencetown, St John’s Gilford, St Francis Aghaderg, St Colman’s Annaclone, St John’s Glenn and St Brendan’s Craigavon all took part in what was a highly successful and enjoyable occasion. After 14 pulsating games of football the days events all boiled down to the final match between the local side St Colman’s Laurencetown and St John’s Glenn. Cousins Gerard and Dylan Bagnall battled hard for the Glenn side however wearing the Tullylish club colours, St Colman’s led by Owen Donnelly in defence took the victory with vital goals from Emmett McDermott and Terry Doran on a scoreline of 5-6 to 3-4. Down Senior Football team member Cathal Magee presented medals and trophies to the winners and runners up, and for the most consistent performer on the day Dylan Bagnall was acknowledged with the Player of the tournament award. Tullylish G.A.C. would like to thank all those schools who attended, as well as the club members who made the day a success, and it is hoped that this tournament will become a permanent fixture in the clubs calendar for years to come.
