St. John's PS visits Crumlin Road Gaol |
9th Feb 2017
On Thursday 9th February pupils from St. John's joined up with pupils from Gilford Primary School on an Extended Schools' trip to Belfast. Their first stop was Crumlin Road Gaol where the pupils experienced life as an inmate during 'The Great Famine'. For security reasons there were no photographs taken inside the Gaol or was it because Mr Battersby left the camera on the bus!
After showing 'good behaviour' the pupils were released to continue on their day trip. They boarded the bus and had some sightseeing before arriving at the Ulster Museum. In the museum they had about an hour to enjoy the many exhibits on display.
When this part of the day was over they went on a 'leisurely' walk around Botantic Gardens and Queen's University grounds.
Many thanks to Mrs Power for organising this trip for the P7's.
