Shared History Education Workshop |
Commemorations of 1916
Year 10 pupils from St Patrick’s College participated in a Shared History Education workshop on Thursday 12th and Friday 13th May 2016 with pupils from Banbridge High school and New Bridge Integrated College.
The shared education themes that were covered included the Battle of the Somme (WW1) and the 1916 Easter rising. The two day workshop was delivered by the Nerve Centre and pupils used digital technology to explore themes around the battle of the Somme and also the Easter rising. Pupils were expertly guided in the use of I pad technology apps including – Comic Life; Green Screen; Garage Band audio and Book maker to create an online digital resource that will be uploaded to the schools website to be shared with other pupils and classes in the three schools.
Pupils enjoyed the experience of working with digital technology and learning about the importance of 1916 and how history is remembered and commemorated.
