Historical Society Slide Show |
The Den was packed on Tuesday night to see a fantastic SLIDE SHOW presented by Brendan Byrne of the Tullylish Historical Society
During the first half of the Slide Show, Brendan showed us some brilliant old photos of Laurencetown - both people and places - and many of those present had stories to add which made the evening all the more enjoyable.
It's alwas great to see, once again, people and places from our memories, but it is even better when stories are added that really bring the past alive.
A huge thank you to Brendan Byrne for showing a small portion of his collection of photos and to all who participated by sharing their stories or by just 'being there'.
Hopefully this is the first of many slide shows.
Plunkett Campbell had many interesting anecdotes to add to the photographs.
Bill and Sheila Monaghan
Marie McAteer was able to name all the children in her First Holy Communion Photograph
Irene Egan and Winnie McAvoy
This photo of Terence McCartan was commissioned
by one of his many fans!
