The B.B.C. paid a visit to Gilford on Thursday 2nd July to record a programme called 'The Long and the Short of It'. Tim McGarry, a six-foot-four comedian, joins vertically challenged Orangeman and historian, Dr David Hume, to investigate little-known Ulster-Scots stories and well-known historical events - in this case - the 'Siege of Gilford'. Plunkett Campbell relayed the events at the original sight of the 'battle'. It will be number 4 in the series which starts on 19th July 2015
