20 G.C.S.E. pupils from Banbridge High School and St. Patrick's College worked together for the 'Yeats' project.
Their work, and the work of the other schools involved, will be on display in the Church of Ireland Hall, Tullylish this weekend (Saturday 4th October).
This project is part of the ongoing celebrations across Ireland commemorating the 150th anniversary of the birth of Ireland's most famous poet, W.B. Yeats. As part of that celebration, Tullylish Historical Society is hosting an event to celebrate the Tullylish Connection with Yeats.
The poet's grandfather was Rector in Tullylish and his father, John B Yeats, was born in the parish.
6 of our local secondary and primary schools are involved in this cross-community project: Milltown P,S., St. Colman's Bann P.S., Craigavon School, Gilford, St. John's P.S. Gilford, Banbridge High School and St. Patrick's College.
At 7.30pm, everyone is invited to share the journey, "from Tullylish to Drumcliffe' with Plunkett Campbell who will share the Reverend Yeats' story, Dr. Éamon Phoenix who will speak about The Famine and Ann Taylor who will speak about the poet. Paul and Lynn Laverty with Paula Jordan will provide the music.
Admission is free so come along to this ancient and historic townland of Tullylish and walk in the footsteps of that 'Red haired Rector from County Down'
