CONGRATULATIONS TO TULLYLISH UNDER 8 FOOTBALLERS!
Clann Na Banna U8 - P3,R3/P4,R4 Kevin Murphy Blitz Sat 23-8-2013
Tullylish Under 8’s travelled to Clann Na Banna for the U8 - P3,R3/P4,R4Blitz on Saturday to play for the Kevin Murphy Cup and Shield. There were 4 teams on the day competing for the Cup and Shield trophies.
Tullylish were drawn against Annaclone first this resulted in a tight defensive game ending with Annaclone winning by a single point.
Tullylish’s second game against Drumgath was a thrilling high scoring game with some great scores which ended Tullylish the well deserved victors.
Tullylish’s third game was a tight end to end game against Clann Na Banna which ended with Tullylish defeating the home team.
With 2 games won out of 3 Tullylish moved into the final of the cup against Annaclone where Tullylish proved too strong for Annaclone and won the Kevin Murphy Cup.
In Midfield performances from Emmet Burns with his impressive fielding of the kick outs and Harvey Breen scoring along with his sister Alisha were outstanding. In defence James Web had an outstanding performance along with Ordhran Conlon but the man of the tournament was the Tullylish goalkeeper Thomas McEvoy with his shot stopping, his kick outs and an unbelievable save he made when he parried a goal attempt from going into the top of the net.
The team squad included Thomas McAvoy, Harvey Breen, Alisha Breen, Rihanna Breen, Jetson Breen, Caoimhin McKiverigan, Ruairí McKiverigan, Liam Burns, Emmet Burns, Ordhran Conlon, James Web, Conor Dee, and Mathew McKay.
Tullach Lís abú.
Clubs in competition were Drumgath, Banbridge, Annaclone and ourselves. Tullylish came out on top after winning 2 of 3 qualifying games and gaining a place in the cup final which we won well. The children were an outstanding example for Tullylish Club today in their behaviour, attitude and overall play. As a mentor I was extremely proud of them. We were delighted to be bringing home our first Cup of the year for under 8s.
